The 68th National Film Awards were given out on the evening of 30th Septemberin New Delhi by President Droupadi Murmu. Legendary actress Asha Parekh got the Dadasaheb Phalke Award of 2020 for her outstanding lifetime contribution to Indian cinema. The 68th National Film awards were to be held in 2021, but were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
