Hazards of smoking in public

Smoking is injurious to health. Most of the heart and respiratory diseases are caused by it. Science has come to a definite conclusion that smoking is worst than drinking. Nicotine deposited in the lungs and arteries results in danger to life. As a matter of fact cigarette manufacturing should be banned. There is statutory warning mentioned on the cigarette packets that smoking is injurious to health but it is just a hypocrisy because the cigarettes and bidies are easily available in every corner of the village or city. Smoking not only harms an individual smoker but also passes serious hazards to the family and the public as a whole. The children of a smoker inhale the smoke while the father or mother is smoking. Smokers are a nuisance in public places and public mode of travel. In trains and buses smokers cause inconvenience to the other passengers. In offices and cinema halls pollution is caused by smoking. In air conditioned rooms and halls smoke emitted by a smoker is a potential danger to one's life. Smoking should be strictly banned particularly in public places. Although smoking is banned in cinema halls, yet there is a flagrant violation of these prohibitory orders. Similarly the institutions dealing with public should also enforce ban in their premises so as to provide healthy atmosphere to the visitors who are vulnerable to contact respiratory ailments in the polluted atmosphere.
