In each of the following questions a short passage is given with one of the lines in the passage missing and represented by a blank. Select the best answer choices given, to make the passage complete.

It suits the meaning and context of the paragraph.

The European economy has performed significantly better than expected this year, propelled by resilient private consumption, stronger growth around the world, and falling unemployment.
This is contextually meaningful and hence correct.

The original fragment conveys that growth remains robust. However, the second fragment also states the same but uses however to indicate that the previous fragment conveys the opposite.
This does not make sense and is incorrect.
